What is a bagel?
According to legends, the bagel (say “beijgel”) shaped in form of a stirrup originated in Vienna in 1683.
In the twenties of the last century, the bagel started its victory course from New York all across the United States of America, whereas today it enjoys great popularity as a healthy fast food alternative. In recent years, the bagel has also found its way back to Europe.
The bagel is cooked prior to baking and consists solely of natural ingredients without fat and preservative additives. The unique method of baking and particular ingredients ensure the typical crusty outside layer and juicy dough inside.
Specialty coffee
Coffee has been known and popular in Europe even before the birth of the bagel. Ever since coffee has become one of the most popular drinks in Europe with increasing new influence from the US: the so called specialty coffee. Specialty coffee is brewed with an Italian sieve espresso machine and refined with different aromas, such as caramel, hazelnut or amaretto, and ultimately crowned with milk and milk foam. Whether cold or hot, black or almost white, each costumer is able to create his/her coffee culture individually.
Bagel sandwiches, specialty coffee, and the philosophy combined with them represent today’s values and urban lifestyle: individual and personal, fast but not careless, quality focused but not wasteful.
